As many of us know, Star Wars is an American science fiction movie series created by George Lucas. The first movie from the series “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope” was released on May 25, 1977. This movie initiated a worldwide Star Wars mania.
Shortly after the film, a series of trading cards was released. These cards were featuring characters and scenes from the movie. Some of the photos on these cards were taken on the set during movie making.
One of the most popular cards from this series is the one presenting C-3PO a protocol droid, fluent in “over six million forms of communication”, designed to serve humans. Topps Star Wars # 207 C-3PO trading card shows famous Android with a golden rod. Because of this # 207 C-3PO card is also known as “boner card”. By looking at this card it can be really said that Android looks really excited with this robo hard-on.
The story behind Topps Star Wars #207 card isn’t clear. Some say that a disgruntled designer from Topps graphics decided to give C-3P0 a hard-on. The official story from Lukasfilm says it’s just an accident due to “trick of timing and light”. Regardless of who made the mistake the card was later replaced with a modified version.
The real Star Wars fans know that this card is really rare today. The card is a collectible and sometimes it can be found on auction websites.
